Venkatachalam leads the firm and spearheads all its strategic initiatives across practices. He comes with over three decades of experience in the areas of Project Development & Structuring, Project Finance, Private Equity, Cross-border Investments and M&A, Restructuring & Turnaround Strategies and Public Private Partnerships.
He has extensive expertise in global and Indian trends of privatization and various privatization models and has worked closely with the Energy & Infrastructure sector across transactions spanning capacity over 10 Gigawatts in India. His expertise also includes Business Strategy and Risk Management, having advised numerous promoter groups, and contributed to boards of companies.
Venkatachalam started his career with AF Ferguson & Co. as a Chartered Accountant. He later was with Asia Brown Boveri Limited, and Ballarpur Industries Limited, leading treasury and strategic finance for the group.
Venkatachalam is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
