Experience

Sairam has over three decades of extensive experience in Investment Banking, M&A, Project Finance, Private Equity, Business Strategy, Restructuring, Governance & Reform and Public Private Partnerships across a wide spectrum of sectors. He also has deep expertise in advising privatization linked initiatives and global resource linkages for domestic and international projects. 

In 1996, he founded Capital Fortunes, and has successfully anchored several marquee domestic and cross-border investments and transactions across sectors. With over 30 years in the domain of Investment and Project Advisory, Sairam has built relationships across a wide investor ecosystem namely Private Equity, Sovereign Funds, Buy-out Funds, Credit Funds, Banks and NBFCs. He is a notable name to several SMEs and Family Businesses across sectors in India.  

Earlier, he was a partner with M. Bhaskara Rao & Company, Chartered Accountants, a leading firm in Hyderabad specializing in Audit & Assurance, Taxation and Corporate Advisory services.  Sairam was a key member across Assurances and Tax & Regulatory practices advising public & private corporations across sectors and several stated-owned banks. 

He has served the Boards of several companies spanning Cement, Logistics, Energy, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Real Estate and Banking. He was appointed by the Government of India on the board of Canara Bank – a leading Public Sector Bank, and National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) – a Navaratna public sector construction major. He has also served the boards of other leading companies including Penna Cements and Care Hospitals as Non-Executive Director.

He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India with a Postgraduate in Management degree in International Finance & Strategy from the University of Pittsburgh, Katz Business School, USA.
